The World Runs on Cold 🌡

Every hour of every day, refrigerated cargo moves across oceans, highways, and storage facilities — keeping the global economy alive.

From frozen foods to pharmaceuticals, from fresh flowers to fine wine, billions of dollars in temperature-sensitive goods are constantly at risk.

Every degree of cooling comes at a cost in energy, emissions, and dollars. What if you could cut fuels costs by up to 80%?

Keeping containers cold comes with significant, ongoing costs, as they run on diesel or electricity 24/7. Every degree preserved requires energy and that energy drives both operational costs and emissions.

The Hidden Challenges of the Cold Chain

The Hidden Challenges of the Cold Chain

• Temperature drift
• Costly delays at ports/roads
• Increasing fuel cost pressures
• Escalating insurance premiums
• Increasing green regulatory compliance

Each of these erodes profit margins, drives up operational costs, inflates business risks, and magnifies the need for smarter, more resilient refrigeration solutions.

The Scale of Opportunity

Every year 189.4 million containers travel the world’s seas. Roughly 6% of the world’s shipping boxes are refrigerated containers (reefers) with an estimated active volume of 200,000 – 400,000 in motion worldwide every day. Reefer container demand is growing 8.8% annually driven by food, pharmaceuticals and chemical industries.

The US trucking refrigerated industry is worth $13.65 B (500,000+ trailers [trucks]). Every one of these containers consumes fuel, energy, and capital. Each one represents an opportunity to save costs and reduce emissions.

Our Breakthrough

Harness Plant-Based Innovation for Superior Thermal Management

Plant based PCM is made from sustainable, USDA Certified Bio-Preferred materials, ensuring safety and environmental responsibility.

Engineered to store and release thermal energy at precise temperatures between -75°C and 175°C, making it versatile for various applications.
Proven to perform consistently over thousands of thermal cycles without degradation, providing long-term reliability and performance.
I was initially skeptical about how the GCCS would reduce fuel costs, but I decided to give it a try. Ken sent someone to install the system in our oldest trailer, and the results were astonishing. The driver thought the system was broken because the truck wasn't running constantly like before. The trailer became more efficient than our newest ones, performing beyond our expectations.

For years, our lab's rooftop unit (RTU) struggled to maintain temperature on hot, humid days. When I met Ken Lorence at greentek, he suggested using PCM wraps to solve the issue. Initially, I was a bit skeptical, but after researching and speaking with manufacturers, I decided to give it a try. greentek installed the energy blankets above our suspended ceiling and added R-13 insulation as recommended. The results were impressive-the RTU now maintains the lab temperature effortlessly, even on the hottest days. Given how effective they were, I plan to install energy panels in our mobile labs next. Thank you, Ken Lorence and greentek!
